Arlington, Texas — The suspect accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Zacchaeus Selby-Mukum, who had survived a previous shooting at Timberview High School in 2021, was arrested in Fort Worth on Tuesday, police announced.

According to a news release from the Arlington Police Department, homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 17-year-old Joshua Robinson. He was located and arrested without incident by members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force.

During their investigation, Arlington PD discovered that Selby-Mukum had been using a social media app to sell firearms and had arranged to meet a potential buyer, identified as Robinson, on the evening of January 13, the night of the shooting.

Surveillance footage from the area showed Selby-Mukum approaching a Nissan Altima that had entered an apartment complex on Laurelwood Drive. Police said the driver of the Altima exited the vehicle, moved toward where Selby-Mukum was later found shot and unresponsive on the ground, then quickly got back into the car and drove away.

Witnesses identified Robinson as the driver of the Altima, and phone records confirmed he had contacted Selby-Mukum shortly before arriving at the complex.

Arlington PD believes an argument over the transaction may have led to the shooting.

Robinson is currently being held at the Arlington City Jail on a murder charge.
