DALLAS – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in Dallas have deported a Pakistani national classified as a national security priority. Syed Rizvi, 56, was repatriated to Pakistan on February 25, according to an ICE statement.
Background on the Case
Rizvi legally entered the United States on September 20, 2017, through a port of entry near New York. However, officials say he subsequently violated the terms of his admission and remained in the country unlawfully.
Authorities determined that Rizvi was living in Dallas without proper authorization. On January 31, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Dallas officers apprehended him during a routine traffic stop. An immigration judge had previously issued a removal order against Rizvi on January 24.
ICE’s Position on the Removal
“Individuals suspected or known to have ties to organizations that threaten public safety will not find refuge in the United States,” said Josh Johnson, Acting Field Office Director for ERO Dallas. “Our highest priority is to identify, arrest, and remove those who pose an imminent danger to U.S. citizens.”
ICE officials emphasized their ongoing commitment to enforcing immigration laws and prioritizing cases involving potential security threats.
