KFC Headquarters Is Moving to Plano

PLANO, Texas – KFC is the latest company to establish a presence in North Texas.

What we know: KFC will transfer its 100 corporate office employees from Louisville, Kentucky, to the shared KFC and Pizza Hut headquarters in Plano. The relocation is expected to occur over the next six months.

Additionally, 90 U.S.-based remote employees will be required to return to the office, with their moves planned within the next 18 months.

Both KFC and Pizza Hut’s global teams are already headquartered in Plano. Yum! Brands, which owns both brands, has had its global operations based in North Texas since 1997, with the Plano campus expanding in 2016.

While KFC shifts its headquarters, Yum! Brands and the KFC Foundation will continue to maintain offices in Louisville. Furthermore, they plan to open an innovative new flagship restaurant in the city.

KFC says the relocation will encourage greater collaboration between brands and employees.

What they’re saying: “These changes position us for sustainable growth and will help us better serve our customers, employees, franchisees, and shareholders,” said David Gibbs, CEO of Yum! Brands. “Ultimately, bringing more of our people together on a consistent basis will maximize our unrivaled culture and talent as a competitive advantage. I’m confident this is another important step in growing our iconic restaurant brands globally.”
