HOW TO HELP North Texans Impacted by Tornadoes

As we wait to hear from officials on the damage from this weekend’s deadly storms, resources are available for those impacted by the storm.

The North Texas tornado killed seven people, left 500,000 without power, and destroyed homes and properties throughout North Texas.

Celina, TX

Below is a list of resources if you would like to help or need help:

Valley View

Valley View is looking for donations of depends, bread, batteries, flashlights, bug spray, sunscreen toilet paper, and brown paper bags. 

A shelter is open at Valley View High School gym (700 S. Frontage Road, Valley View, TX), run by the American Red Cross, offering aid to storm victims with shelter, food, and water as they rebuild. Donations can be dropped off at the Ag Building behind the football field (805 S. Lee, Valley View, TX).

The Salvation Army will deploy three mobile kitchens on Monday, May 27, assisting in Valley View, Sanger, Lake Ray Roberts, and Celina, following Sunday’s provision of over 600 meals to storm-affected individuals.

Denton County

Tomorrow, May 28th, volunteers interested in helping can gather at 8 a.m. at Pilot Point City Hall, located at 102 E Main Street. Disaster Aid USA will coordinate the volunteers and require them to sign a waiver. Volunteers are encouraged to bring chainsaws, trucks, trailers, work gloves, and sturdy shoes.

Celina

GraceBridge, a nonprofit located in Celina, is offering resources and supplies to storm victims, as stated by Collin County Judge Chris Hill. Donations can be made today at 402 S Oklahoma Drive, Celina, TX and will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All other donations can be coordinated by contacting (214)425-9423.
