FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth police have arrested three individuals, including a 17-year-old, in connection with an alleged murder plot orchestrated over a social media dispute.
According to investigators, the plot centered around a staged kidnapping intended to lure two victims into an ambush. However, authorities intervened before the plan could be executed.
Incident Overview
Authorities responded to a report of a possible kidnapping near Las Vegas Trail and I-30 in East Fort Worth in late January. The call came from two individuals who believed someone they knew had been abducted.
“When officers arrived on scene and began their investigation—taking the situation very seriously—that’s when the plan started to unravel,” said Fort Worth Police Officer Lorenzo Burrell.
Investigation Uncovers Murder Plot
Detectives quickly determined that the alleged kidnapping was a ruse. According to police, 17-year-old Estefana De La Rosa had faked her own abduction in an attempt to lure the intended targets to an undisclosed location, where they would be ambushed.
“This plan included the purchase of a weapon and a coordinated effort to lure the victims with the intent to kill them,” Burrell explained. “It was a calculated and premeditated attack by the suspects.”
Investigators identified De La Rosa’s alleged co-conspirators as 31-year-old Christian Hernandez Carrazales and 23-year-old Jesus Huitron. Police were able to intervene before the plan was carried out, preventing any harm to the intended victims.
Legal Consequences
All three suspects have been taken into custody and are facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder.
“These individuals devised a plan to seek revenge against people they believed had made a social media post about them,” said Burrell. “The victims and suspects were known to each other.”
