
FORT WORTH, Texas — A fire at an apartment complex in Fort Worth left one person injured and several residents displaced on Wednesday evening, officials reported.
Around 9 p.m., the Fort Worth Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at the Crest at River Apartments, located in the 100 block of Roberts Cut Off Road. Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy flames coming from the back of the complex.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but at least four units were severely damaged. Authorities said two residents were displaced and will receive assistance from the Red Cross.
WFAA learned that a woman’s service dog perished in the fire. The condition of the injured individual remains unclear.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
