DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – There’s still time to get a selfie with the infamous “Leaning Tower of Dallas” if you haven’t had yours yet.
The leaning tower became a social media sensation after an elevator shaft failed to come down during a planned building implosion in Uptown. Many North Texans flocked to the site to get pictures.
Now locals have the chance to see a replica of the tower made with Lego’s. The model is in LEGOLAND Grapevine MINILAND. It took Matt Graham, LEGOLAND Discovery Center DFW’s Master Model Builder assistant, 1,500 LEGO bricks and two hours to create the internet sensation.
He even created a selfie scene with LEGO Minifigures, and one lucky LEGO Minifigure is even doing the iconic Leaning Tower of Dallas pose while they “hold up” the building. The LEGO version will be displayed through the rest of February.
If you want to see the real deal, you’ve got time. A wrecking ball will finish the job but not until next week.
