COLLIN COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF)- February 18th is the first day of early voting. Texans will be voting during the primaries on Presidential Candidates, U.S. Senate Candidates, U.S. Representatives, Judges and Party Propositions.
Collin County Elections Chair Bruce Sherbet says early voting helps to increase voter turnout. “What happens in a primary election is both parties want to get a feel for what the voters want for the party platforms and what they want to support. This is a way to start that process,” he said.
Sherbet said early voting is ‘wildly popular with voters’ however, he encourages people not to wait until the last day because sometimes the last day of early voting is more crowded than Election Day. Early voting concludes February 28th and the Democratic and Republican primaries are on March 3rd.
