Some Good Comes Out Of Dallas Crane Collapse

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF)  Hundreds of people who used to live in the Elan City Lights Apartments in Dallas are donating their left behind furniture to the nonprofit VolunteerNow.

Instead of letting the left-behind pieces go to waste, previous residents are allowing VolunteerNow to accept good-condition sofas, lamps, entertainment centers and patio furniture to sell in its Donated Good Discount Depot store, located directly across the street from the apartment complex.  Three months ago, a crane hit the apartment complex during a storm killing one resident.  As a result of the damage, the apartment complex was deemed “totally unusable”.

The items will be offered at a fraction of retail cost and available to first responders, active military members and veterans, teachers and school district staff, and nonprofit employees and clients. Proceeds will benefit VolunteerNow and its mission.
