DFW Airport Voting to Raise Prices for Drivers Passing Through

DFW AIRPORT (WBAP/KLIF News) — Driving through DFW Airport just to get a jump on traffic may soon cost you more money.

Right now, it costs $4 to spend eight minutes or less at the airport. But if the airport’s board approves a new proposal, that price will jump to $6 in October.

The reason, according to airport officials, is to discourage people not using the airport for travel from passing through.

The Dallas Morning News reports 2,500 commuters a day passed through last year, which led to around $3.5 million in revenue. If the new price is approved, it will add just shy of another $2 million to that number, if the same number of drivers pass through.

The board will vote on the proposal Thursday.
