FAIR PARK (WBAP/KLIF News) — It is officially opening day for the 2018 State Fair of Texas.
The 2018 version of the fair highlights Texas innovation, which will feature things like car concepts originating from Texas, the first ever margarita machine, and the integrated circuit, among others.
“All of these amazing things, you’ll be very surprised to learn they came from our great Lone Star State ,” said fair spokesperson Karissa Condoianis.
And of course, the usual staples will be present, like the Midway, fried foods, and the cars, which according to Ford, is massive for all of the auto companies.
“It’s bigger than the next two states combined,” Ford’s Craig Patterson said about sales in Texas. “You have to be able to win in Texas.”
It’s recommended to buy tickets online ahead of time to both save time at the gate and save $1.50 on the price of admission.
The gates open at 10:00 Friday. The fair runs until October 21st.
