DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) — Texas Rangers looking into the death of Botham Jean have seized several additional items from Jean’s apartment.
They secured five warrants on Friday, one week after Jean’s death.
Two of those allowed them to remove the door locks from both Jean’s door, and that of Officer Amber Guyger. She’s the DPD Officer charged in his death.
They also pulled surveillance video from the South Side Flats, as well as door sensor reports from the complex.
Guyger told investigators that the door was ajar when she approached it, thinking it was her own… then shot and killed Jean thinking he was an intruder.
Guyger is charged with manslaughter in the case. She’s currently out on bond awaiting a Dallas County grand jury.
