Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A Richardson church is under scrutiny after putting controversial flyers on people’s doors for a summer lecture series on dangerous ‘isms.’
The Greenville Avenue Church of Christ distributed door clings over the weekend for the series on the dangers of things like alcoholism, materialism and pessimism.
But community members are concerned that the topic list also included Judaism, Islamism and liberalism.
An area resident told our Scott Sidway that he can see how some can be offended:
“When it comes down to the safety of the country it’s a different story … in people and like the terrorism we’ve been having against some of these people not all of them but some, I can kinda see what they’re talking about, the man said.
The church stands by the series, but some members of the community are calling it the spreading of hate and bigotry.

GACC is a predominantly African-American church established as Hamilton Park Church of Christ in 1959. The church has been in several locations before the Greenville Avenue site, which it has remained since 1990.
