FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A 27-year-old Fort Worth woman has been arrested in the death of her girlfriend’s 2-year-old son, who died from blunt force trauma to the head and abdomen in March.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Zahira Lavon Hill was arrested Monday on a capital murder warrant in the death of Saiden Levi Robertson.

According to an arrest warrant, Hill, who was caring for the child while his mother was at work, told investigators that the boy fell from his bed.

In April, investigators learned the medical examiner’s office formally ruled the child’s death a homicide. Dr. Marc Krouse told investigators the injuries were inconsistent with a fall from a bed and the boy also suffered rib fractures.

Hill remained in jail Tuesday. Jail records don’t list an attorney for her.
