DALLAS, TX (WBAP/KLIF News) – A well known fixture of DFW weather is taking a step back.
NBC 5 announced today that longtime weatherman David Finfrock will be stepping down from the post of Chief Meteorologist to a part time status. Finfrock has been with channel 5 since 1975, eventually taking over the top spot from weather legend Harold Taft in 1991.
Finfrock, who turns 65 this year, says he’d been thinking of retirement for a while. Effective today, Rick Mitchell takes over as the station’s Chief Meteorologist.
