DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Red Cross is in dire need of blood donors over the holidays.
The organization’s Jane Hale said every two seconds someone in the United States is in need of blood.
She said the Red Cross has a difficult time helping to meet those needs during the holidays.
“We did a study with our response last year and noticed about 64,000 fewer donation appointments during the seven weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year,” she said.
The process to donate is relatively easy and Hale said it has a monumental impact on a recipient’s life.
“So we’re trying real hard this year to get the word out that the only with your help can we make sure that the blood that is needed for patients is on the shelves throughout the holidays,” she said.
