Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Sidewalks in Dallas are now filled with all different kinds of smart bikes. Some residents say they’ve become an eyesore because they are being strewn about. So, it raises the question, how many people are actually using the bikes that are being provided by a number of competing companies?
LimeBike, one of those companies has just released of report on the impact of the bikes in the Dallas area. They found Dallas riders clocked 105,000 cumulative miles on LimeBikes since they went into service in August of 2017. Twenty percent of all trips start or end near public transit and 51% of riders are using the bikes during the evening rush hour. Average riding time is nine minutes and 45 seconds, covering 1.3 miles.
