Rumors Swirl That the Dallas Police Chief is Resigning

Dallas, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – There are rumors swirling that after a little over 2 months on the job, the new Dallas Police Chief U. Renee Hall may resign soon.

According to a published report, there is some concern among the department’s rank-and-file that Chief Hall has not been seen in uniform since taking the reins of the department in early September–fueling rumors that she’s not only resigning, but that she failed the state licensing exam which allow her to wear the uniform.

Texas law requires that people from out-of-state must prove their eligibility for the test. City officials say Hall — who came from the Detroit PD — was just approved to take the test this month, and plans to take it before year’s end.

The Dallas Morning News quotes Hall who calls the rumors “nonsense” fueled by the media.

Meantime, the head of the Dallas Police Association told ‘The News’ that while Hall looks great, “she doesn’t look like us,” and that if she’s going to represent the men and women of the DPD, “she needs to look like the rest of us“– meaning, in uniform.
