DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — President George H.W Bush says he did not mean to offend an actress when he patted her on the rear during a photo three years ago.
Actress Heather Lind recently spoke about the photo from March of 2014 on Instagram, where she claims the 41st President of the United States told her a dirty joke before the picture and then groped her while it was being taken. The post has since been taken off her Instagram account.
President Bush’s office released a statement acknowledging it did happen, but that he does it with good intentions to put people at ease. The statement also says that is where his arm naturally goes because of his confinement to a wheelchair.
Representatives said President Bush is sorry to anyone he has offended, and that many others he has taken photos with have seen the actions as innocent.
