FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) — A family of three from South Fort Worth is in the hospital after house caught late Wednesday night.

The Fort Worth Fire Department says they got the call just before midnight on Wednesday.

“They had some people in the front yard of the house that had already evacuated and managed to escape the house,” said Kyle Clay of the Fort Worth Fire Department, referring to the two parents. “One of the individuals told us their daughter was still inside.”

Clay said firefighters were able to get the 13-year-old girl out of the house, but that she wasn’t breathing when they did. They, along with the Everman Police Department, performed CPR to get her breathing again and then transported her and the parents to Parkland Hospital.

As of early Thursday morning, all three are listed in serious condition. The child suffered burn wounds and smoke inhalation.

No word on the cause of the fire, but the department has ruled out foul play.
