Local Parole Officer Arrested by Police

(WBAP/KLIF) North Texas Parole Officer Michael Lee Bush, who is 52 years old, was arrested by Denton Police on Tuesday, August 1st, for possession of a controlled substance. According to officials, Bush scheduled an ‘unscheduled’ meeting with a parolee of his to allegedly receive drugs. Shane Kizer with the City of Denton says a tip help to lead the police to the arrest: “We looked it to of course, to see if there was a merit to these allegations and when we saw that there appeared that there were, we wanted to see if it was a possibility that we might see an exchange. We received information that Bush has made an unscheduled visit with one of the parolees on the first [8/01/2017] and we thought that might have been made for an attempt for him to get more of the pills.” Kizer says the unscheduled visit was just that: “He [Bush] sure enough did receive some hydrocodone pills from the parolee. So we took him [Bush] into custody at that time.”

Bush was taken to the Denton City Jail, but has since bonded out on a $5,000 bond.
