Flower Mound Police are asking for the public’s help to find a runaway 12-year-old girl.

Amy Lee Hernandez left her home by exiting through her bedroom window on July 18, after an argument with her parents.  She is described as being four foot eight inches tall and weighs approximately 90 pounds.  She has brown shoulder-length hair and hazel eyes. Amy was last seen wearing a dark shirt with blue jeans and dark green high top sneakers.

Amy lives in the 4300 block of Southampton Court in Flower Mound and may be trying to go to in the Carrollton area where she has friends.  She has also mentioned going to California where she has family.

“She also has a juvenile male acquaintance in New York as well and may attempt to go there,” said Captain Wess Griffin. “We don’t know if she’s just trying to throw people off or if she hasn’t decided which direction she’s going to go yet.”

Police say Amy has had recent communication with friends, but does not have a phone, nor did she have money or credit cards on her person at the time she ran away.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Amy Lee Hernandez, is urged to call the Flower Mound tip line 972.874.3362 or 972.539.0525 to speak directly with a communications officer.
