HALTOM CITY (WBAP/KLIF News) — A Haltom City home was the center of an hours-long standoff early Tuesday morning.

Police went to the home off Denton Highway shortly after midnight when a woman came to headquarters saying her ex-husband had barricaded himself inside her home.

According to police, the man refused to come out when officers arrived, forcing a SWAT team to surround him for about four hours.

“They entered the house and deployed a flash bang to distract him,” said Sergeant Eric Peters. “He was taken into custody in one of the back bedrooms of the house without incident.”

Police say no one else was inside and that there were no injuries. Peters says police had visited the home in the past for domestic disturbances.
