AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News) — The state of California will no longer allow state-funded travel to Texas.
California’s Attorney General, Xavier Becerra, making the announcement Thursday, citing Texas’ adoption of a new law allowing religious adoption agencies the right to turn away prospective parents who’s beliefs do not align with the organization.
Earlier this year, California enacted a law restricting taxpayer funded travel to places that discriminate against people because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
As of Friday, The Golden State has banned state-sponsored travel to Texas, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and South Dakota,
