WASHINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) — A Texas congressman has introduced legislation that would allow lawmakers to carry firearms into most locations. East Texas Rep. Brian Babin, R-Woodville, introduced the bill Tuesday that would allow certified members of Congress to carry concealed personal firearms into most areas, with few exceptions. The legislation comes a week after republican legislators and staff members were attacked by a gunman while practicing for a congressional baseball game. Babin issued a statement saying, “the tragic events of last week make it clearer than ever that we need to take steps to enable members of congress to protect themselves.”
