Dallas Paramedic Returns Home After May 1st Shooting

DALLAS (AP) – A paramedic shot and critically wounded while treating another wounded man during a shooting rampage in a Dallas neighborhood near Fair Park has been discharged from a hospital almost a month after the shooting.

Dallas Fire-Rescue Firefighter/Paramedic Will An was discharged from Baylor University Medical Center on Wednesday after spending the month confined to bed since the May 1 shooting.

A 36-year-old man with a criminal history killed his roommate, shot his neighbor and opened fire on responding paramedics during an attack that prompted police to barricade the area for hours. Derrick Lamont Brown eventually was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
