A New Man To Lead The City of Dallas

t-c-broadnaxThe City of Dallas has a new man at the helm. Mayor Mike Rawlings has announced the appoinment of T.C. Broadnax as the new Dallas City Manager.

Broadnax comes to Big D from Tacoma, Washington where he’s been the City Manager since 2012. But Broadnax is not new to Texas. He previously spent five years in San Antonio as an Assistant City Manager and obtained his Master’s of Public Administration from the University of North Texas in 1993. In a statement issued by Rawlings, the Mayor said “On behalf of the Dallas City Council, I want to thank all of the candidates who interviewed for this position, especially Dallas Assistant City Manager Mark McDaniel. Mark has been a tremendous leader for our city since his hiring in 2014”.

The City Council still has to formally approve Broadnax’s hire, that’s expected to happen at next Wednesday’s meeting.  Then the council and Broadnax will enter into contract negotiations.  Once that’s done, Broadnax should take over after the first of the year for current Dallas City Manager A.C. Gonzalez who’s set to retire on January 27th.
