Kristin Thrower: 5/6/15 Life Changes

KristinThrower150We’ve always heard the variations of the cliché “Life is too short.” Life is too short to not have dessert. Life is too short to pass on an opportunity. Life is too short to be complacent and not go after what you really want. That last one has special meaning for me now.

I’m going through some pretty big changes that I decided to make once I realized I was coasting through part of my life. I was allowing myself to be content by not taking my pursuit of happiness by the horns and guiding it in the way I wanted it to go.So, I recently got out of my comfort zone and mounted the buck. It’s likely the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do because it ended my life as I’ve known it for the last decade – nearly my entire adulthood. The process is hard. Making any decision that leads to an unknown future causes some growing pains and an alarming sacrifice. But I discovered keeping my eye on possibility, on the betterment of myself and others, will get me through to the other side.

These changes are teaching me what is truly important – honesty, integrity, generosity, and the awareness that decisions you make affect other people. Now it’s time to toast to new beginnings and a new outlook on life. CARPE DIEM!
