DALLAS – WFAA; (WBAP/KLIF) – More federal employee layoffs are reported today, and along with them, termination of leases for office space that provided those workers with place to do their jobs.
Dallas-area-based federal Education Department staffers received layoff notices today as well, but the number affected remains unclear.
As of March 5, the agency headed by Elon Musk has terminated six office leases for federal Education Department workers across Dallas, Fort Worth, Addison, Grand Prairie and Irving.
The moves underscore the new presidential administration’s cost-cutting strategy and suggest more real estate reductions are possible.
