CLEBURNE, Texas — A 16-year-old girl was seriously injured, and a driver was arrested following a hit-and-run crash in Cleburne on Tuesday, according to police.
The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Woodard Avenue and North Ridgeway Drive, as stated in a police news release.
Officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a red car. Upon arrival, they found the victim, a 16-year-old girl, who had sustained serious injuries. She was transported to a hospital where she was reported to be in stable condition.
Later, police located the suspected vehicle at a motel in the 100 block of North Ridgeway Drive. The driver was identified as Edwin Eliceo Villalvir Giron, 27, of Dallas. He was arrested on charges of collision involving personal injury, a third-degree felony. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
