ADDISON, Texas — A small plane carrying only the pilot slid off the runway at Addison Airport on Tuesday evening, officials reported.

At approximately 6:57 p.m. on January 14, a single-engine Piper PA-28 plane veered off the runway, according to the Addison Fire Department.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the plane’s landing gear collapsed during takeoff. Fortunately, the pilot was the only person on board, and no injuries were reported.

Officials are investigating the incident.
