Snowfall in North Texas Falls Short of Expectations

North Texas experienced less snowfall overnight than many had anticipated, according to FOX 4 Weather Meteorologist Evan Andrews. The unpredictable winter weather led to mixed results across the region, with some areas meeting forecasts while others fell short.

“It was one of those tricky forecasts,” Andrews explained. “Some places received the heavier precipitation we predicted, while others were left waiting for snow that never really materialized. Overnight, we only saw light snow on the backend, and overall, totals were lower than expected.”

The heaviest accumulations were concentrated north of Highway 182, particularly in Cooke and Grayson counties. Towns like Gainesville, Sherman, and Bonham saw impressive totals exceeding six inches of snow.

In Wise, Denton, and Collin counties, residents woke up to accumulations between three and six inches. Fort Worth and North Dallas recorded slightly less, with one to three inches of snowfall. Areas south of Dallas received less than an inch, with minimal impact.

No significant additional snowfall is expected as the day progresses, though a few light flurries may linger into early Friday morning.
