Greenville, Hunt County Police Officer Dies in Shooting

GREENVILLE – (WBAP/KLIF)- A Greenville police officer is reported to have died of wounds sustained in a shooting around dinnertime Monday night. Police have not identified the officer who was killed.

The suspect was also shot, though place of treatment and condition remains unknown at this time.

Officials say the Greenville officer was shot in a wooded area behind some homes in the 3500 block of PIcket Street just before 8 pm Monday.

The officer, reported to have received gunshot wounds to the side and leg, dying at Medical City, Plano.
