Grand Prairie ISD Superintendent on Administrative Leave Months Into the Job Amid Investigation

GRAND PRAIRIE (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Grand Prairie ISD Superintendent Doctor Jorge Arredondo has been placed on administrative leave just three months into the job.

The district’s board of trustees voted 5-2 at a special meeting on Wednesday.

In a statement, officials said the move was an effort to “protect the district and Doctor Arredondo” but did not give a specific reason for the decision.

“Because this is an ongoing investigation, there will be no additional comment from this board, ” said Board President Amber Moffitt. “We believe all parties will be treated fairly with a high level of professionalism by the outside third-party law firm that is conducting the investigation.”

Deputy Superintendent of Business Operations Tracy Ray will serve as acting superintendent while Arredondo is on leave.
