FOX NEWS – (WBAP/KLIF) – At least five members of the U.S. Secret service have been placed on administrative leave, after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler Pennsylvania July 13th.
Fox News reports one member of Trump’s personal protective team and four members of the Pittsburgh Field Office’s personnel, including the Special Agent In Charge are now on leave – almost six weeks after the shootings.
In Butler PA, 20 year old Matthew Crooks was blamed for several shots from the roof of a nearby building as Trump held an outdoors political rally. He was shot dead after one bullet grazed Trump’s ear and a supporter, firefighter Corey Comperatore was shot dead. Crooks is indicated in the shooting and wounding of another two Trump supporters behind Trump on stage; James Copenhaver and David Dutch. Amid intense Congressional pressure, Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned.
Fox News reports a threat from Iran was discussed at the Secret Service before the Pennsylvania event, leaving Congress wondering why the event went forward as it did. Investigation into the attack continues.
