Denton ISD Bus Driver on Leave Pending Investigation Into Alleged Erratic Driving Incident

DENTON (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Duel investigations are underway in Denton after parents complained about a terrifying incident involving a school bus driver.

They’re alleging he was driving erratically and purposely slamming on the brakes while kids were on board earlier this week.

It happened Tuesday afternoon on Crestmeadow Street near East Brook Hollow Street.

A mother recorded her interactions the driver of bus 116, which serves Evers Park Elementary, and children can be heard screaming as the two argued in the doorway. The woman’s sister called 911.

After the incident, the kids were escorted off the bus by first responders. Police at the scene say several children told them they hit their heads during the incident.

Officers said the kids did not have any visible injuries and did not need further treatment.

Denton ISD and Denton police are looking into the situation.

The district said the bus driver has been placed on administrative leave.
