New Information Connected to Investigation into Two Suspicious Encounters Involving North Texas Children

NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – There’s new information connected to investigations into two suspicious encounters involved what was initially believed to be adults targeting children in North Texas.

Richardson police say they’ve identified the driver at the heart of an alarming encounter involving a child on Monday morning.

The incident sparked an investigation after a man in a suspicious vehicle followed a student who was walking to J.J. Pierce high school Monday morning. the dark-colored sedan was captured on surveillance video.

The girl eventually ran to a neighbor’s home and rang the doorbell for help.

Detectives questioned the man and determined he was not a threat.

However, Dallas police are still investigating a second incident that occurred six minutes away on the same day.

A mother told officers surveillance video captured a man in a white Toyota 4Runner following children along Old Pond Drive, then running after a kid on foot before taking off.

Dallas police said they’ve spoken with the individuals involved, who are all under 18, and added that they’re cooperating with the investigation.

The department does not believe there’s a threat to the public at this time.

There have been no arrests made so far.
