FORT WORTH – (WBAP/KLIF) – A Fort Worth police officer has died after being hit at the scene of an earlier Interstate 35 accident near Sycamore School Road. It happened just after 5:30 AM Monday; Sgt. Bill Randolph was standing outside his vehicle helping at an accident site, when another driver struck him.

Randolph was taken to JPS Hospital where the Fort Worth Police Department says he died of his injuries. Southbound 35 had been shut down at that location since about 2:30 AM at the earlier, firey accident scene.
