(WBAP/KLIF) – UVALDE, TX – In August of 2022 a collation of news organizations sued the City of Uvalde for access to records related to the law enforcement response to the deadly 20-22 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School that claimed the lives of 19 students and two teachers. The city settled with the media coalition, and granted access to records which includes 911 calls, radio traffic, text messages, dash-cam and body-cam video footage, and other related documents related to the shooting. One call recording shows the uncle of shooter begging the 911 dispatcher to let him talk to his nephew to stop the massacre. The settlement is separate from the lawsuit that the coalition filed against the Texas Department of Public Safety.
