DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A North Texas baseball card dealer is hoping the public can help catch the thieves who stole about $2 million worth of baseball cards at the Dallas Card Show on Sunday and Allen police are investigating.
The show is held several times a year at the Marriott Dallas Hotel and Convention Center.
In a post on X, the victim said the theft was “predetermined and targeted because they knew exactly what case to take, which contained a large portion of my inventory.”
The victim, Ashish Jai, a vintage card dealer for Legacy Cards, posted surveillance video and several photos detailing how the heist went down on the last day of the show.
As vendors took down their booths, members of the Legacy Cards team were distracted by three people while another man swiped a case behind them.
In another X post, Jai wrote “the man seen taking the case from under the table in the middle of the square of tables had been stacking chairs near the booth for over an hour, and we thought he worked there. These guys had been scoping us out all day after footage review, and event went through the process of changing clothes.”
On Monday, Jai posted that he’s offering a $70,000 reward for the return of the cards of information that helps get them back.
