PRINCETON (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A welfare check at a home in Princeton led to the discovery of a large labor trafficking operation in Collin County and four North Texans facing serious charges.
Princeton police got a tip on March 13 about some suspicious activity at a home on Ginsburg Lane near Windermere Way.
During an investigation into the allegations, authorities obtained a search warrant for the home of 31-year-old Santhosh Katkoori.
Detectives found 15 women who claimed they were forced to work as programmers for several shell companies owned by Katkoori and his wife, 31-year-old Dwaraka Gunda.
According to police, the women were forced to sleep on the floor and officers seized laptops, cell phones and documents from the property.
The investigation uncovered evidence of a wider operation in Melissa and McKinney, with dozens of male and female victims.
Princeton police said after analyzing the evidence, they issued arrest warrants for Katkoori, Gunda, 24-year-old Chandan Dasireddy and 37-year-old Anil Male on the second-degree felony charge of trafficking of persons.
The department said more charges against several parties involved are pending as the investigation moves forward.
