AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott is slamming President Joe Biden’s executive order aimed at limiting asylum seekers at the southern border.
Abbott told Fox News the president overturning orders from the trump administration led to the border crisis.
“The executive order does absolutely nothing to change the chaos created by Joe Biden on the border,” Abbott said.
Republicans have called the order a political move in an election year. Members of the president’s own party have called him out on it as well.
“This all was started by Joe Biden when he issued those executive orders has his first day as president wiping out all of those programs that President Trump had put into place,” Abbott said.
The executive order, issued Tuesday, can shut down asylum seekers if the system is overwhelmed.
