DALLAS – (WBAP/KLIF) – The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled with an administrative stay for now blocking the state of Texas from enforcing it’s controversial senate bill four in Texas to take effect. It would allow police officers to make arrests of anyone suspected of entering the country illegally, and allow state judges to order deportations.
Critics warn the law will lead to discrimination against Hispanics and people of color. A federal judge in Texas blocked the law calling it a violation of the U.S. Constitution in which only the federal government may act on all things immigration.
The administrative stay will remain in place while the high court considers emergency appeals from the Biden White House and others challenging the law.
