Lewisville is Putting a One Year a Ban on Short Term Rentals

LEWISVILLE, TX – (WBAP/KLIF) – On Monday night the Lewisville City Council voted 4 to 3 to ban short term rentals on new properties for one year. This comes just one month after the city council approved new regulations for short term rentals. The one year hiatus will give the city staff much needed time to establish the best process to permit and regulate new short term rental properties.

Existing short term rentals would still be able to continue under the title of legal non conforming uses. Lewisville has experienced an 80% increase in these short term rentals, since 2020. However, these properties have brought about complaints concerning safety, noise, and parking.
