Case on Transgender Rights is Headed to the Texas Supreme Court

AUSTIN, TX – (WBAP/KLIF) – On Tuesday, the Texas Supreme Court is going begin to hearing arguments in a case that is challenging the state’s ban on care for transgender children.

Senate Bill 14 became law back in September. It makes it illegal for children in Texas to obtain puberty blockers or hormone therapy. It also requires transgender kids who are already receiving those treatments to be weaned off the procedures in a medically appropriate manner. Tuesday’s oral arguments are being brought on by parents, doctors, and supporters who are challenging that ban.
