Denton County First Responders to the Icy Rescue

COPPER CANYON – (WBAP/KLIF) – First responders in Denton County pull more than people from dangerous or life-threatening situations. Turns out even cows are grateful for a helping hand. Denton County Emergency Services say a citizen called asking for help with a cow that had fallen through an ice crusted pond in Copper Canyon.

WFAA-TV reports crews used straps with a borrowed tractor to haul that Bessie out of the pond, then warmed her up with blankets. Crews report she appeared to be recovering well, and as firefighters were leaving, Bessie got up to follow them.
