SAN ANTONIO (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Less than two weeks after a missing pregnant teen and her boyfriend were found shot to death in San Antonio last month, police have made an arrest.
19-year-old Christopher Preciado is charged with capital murder and his father 53-year-old Roman Preciado is charged with abuse of a corpse for allegedly helping to move the bodies of 18-year Savanah Soto and 22-year Matthew Guerra.
In a press conference, San Antonio Police Sergeant Washington Moscoso said Soto’s phone helped crack the case.
“One of the key pieces of evidence that we did collect at the scene was Savanah’s cell phone. With that information we were able to detect the location of the suspect’s vehicle,” he said.
Moscosco said Soto’s family contacted police when she missed an appointment to be chemically induced to give birth.
Her unborn child did not survive and police said there may be more charges pending.
The couple’s bodies were found on December 26th in Guerra’s Kia Optima but police said the murders took place five day’s earlier on December 21. The Bexar County medical examiner said both suffered fatal gunshots to the head.
Investigators believe the killings were the result of a drug deal gone bad.
