Governor Abbott Touts State’s Economic Numbers

(WBAP/KLIF) — Blockbuster economic growth continues to be the status quo in the Lone Star State.

Governor Greg Abbott celebrated the state’s continuing economic expansion, Wednesday, as new numbers were released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The data shows the state’s economy grew faster than the nation for the fifth quarter in a row, while leadng the nation in job creation over the last 12 months. Abbott touted setting new record highs for total jobs, the number of Texans working, and the size of the state’s labor force.

In addition, Texas’ value of all goods and services produced in the third quarter of 2023 grew at an annual rate of 7.7%, well ahead of the national growth rate of 4.9%. According to Abbott, Texas continues to attract business investments across diverse industries due to the state’s strong workforce and credits the success to innovation, a strong work ethic, and flourishing ideas….which are deeply rooted in Texas. The governor believes Texas has the best business landscape in the nation.
