DFW Metroplex Parents of a Sex Trafficking Teen Victim Pushing for Federal Charges

DALLAS – (WBAP/KLIF)- The parents of a North Richland Hills teen taken from a Dallas Mavericks game at the American Airlines Center about a year ago are calling on the feds to investigate, reported considering civil action against agencies involved, and alerting parents and other teens how easily human trafficking can happen.

The 15 year old girl was rescued from Oklahoma City; parents say, drugged, starved and forced into sex acts. The parents are speaking out after the suspect was no billed, in part, they say, because not all evidence was accepted by Dallas County. Reports indicate it was not police, but the non-profit Texas Counter Trafficking Intiative that located her through online ads for sex.

The suspect is reported to have a record of a prior arrest for trafficking of a minor in Harris County.

The family is seeking federal charges in this case, with it crossing state lines; the family is also reported as seeking civil action against several agencies involved in the case
