New Hope for Deadly Dog Respiratory Illness

NEW YORK – (WBAP/KLIF) – There’s new hope against a new and quickly deadly illness striking dogs in orth Texas and around the nation continuing to claim the lives of family’s dogs. Scientists now believe they are fighting a strange new bacteria, and not a virus as first suspected.

Dogs will begin to cough, sneeze, show nasal and eye discharge, and quickly develop a deadly form of pnemonia within hours or days. Because this is easily transmitted, and as the sometimes-fatal illness can be picked up anywhere an afflicted dog has been, experts suggest we avoid dog to dog contact, including trips to the dog parks.

But owners are experimenting now with a Chinese medicine mushroom powder in capsules sold widely at health food stores for humans, called “Cordyceps”. Used by humans for thousands of years for all ailments respiratory, some owners report Cordyceps does work to alleviate the illness, which can quickly kill a dog.
